What do you think about most? (Face palm Tanja, face palm)

“Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].”-‭‭PHILIPPIANS‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”-‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:5‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Holy Spirit was like Tannnnnjaaaaa, girlllllll, will you please focus on where your thoughts are and take them captive if they’re not of me? & I was like ohhhhhhhhhh…that’s what’s been going on. *Ah-Ha!*Sometimes I wonder if God laughs at me or even does a face palm. My flesh can be so stubborn sometimes. Anyone who knows me, knows that I can be stubborn.

I am laying down my old self and focusing on who God has called me to be. The stupid devil absolutely loves to lie to you and remind you of who you used to be. I have felt an overwhelming stress, anxiety, and depression. All of these things are not of Our Loving Father. Sometimes, I have to tell these spirits to go away, multiple times a day. That is just the season I’m in.

Our attitude is everything. We can focus on all the little things that are wrong in our life or we can focus on the promise that God makes everything turn out for the good (‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬). Even if something huge happens, trust in The Lord that he will turn even the darkest of situations into light.

Pastor Kim shared that she keeps a journal of answered prayers & blessings so she is able to look at them through the different trials and seasons of life. I am so happy that Holy Spirit told me to do just that. Now, in times like these, I’m able to reflect upon all the wonderful blessings God has done in this past year and a half. The Word, prayer, fellowship, and my prayer journal have helped me so much.

Focus on how blessed you are, even when you feel like you’re a mess.

My thoughts have been a little off lately…

Where are your thoughts?

Being Joyful Through Trials

I’ve read this verse over and over again and this afternoon it is hitting me in a deeper way that pushes me to greater understanding. Thank-you Lord!

Yesterday I had someone tell me that I look so happy all the time. I am thankful for the compliment, however, I know that my fiancé, mother, and maid of honor could tell you otherwise these past couple weeks!

I have been healed from Bipolar Disorder II (Thank-you Lord!!!! & shout out to my fiancé for telling me to stop keeping God inside a box), so I no longer deal with suicidal thoughts or depression. With the wedding coming up in 3 short months and me trying to originally plan it in my own will, as you could guess, my plans didn’t work out well. & man, my attitude was poor.

I am doing better this week. Scripture, prayer, and fellowship have gotten me through just fine. This morning when I read this, I realized that even though the bumps in the road and complications may come, that they’re shaping me into a more mature believer. I realize that the suffering I have dealt with in my life is absolutely NOTHING  compared to what Jesus Christ endured. I have realized that the reason I have been under spiritual attack lately is not only because I will be getting married in October to the one God has chosen, but because I am on the verge of a spiritual breakthrough.

Declare VICTORY over your life.

We tend to forget that the battle is already won, myself included.

“Blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the [victor’s] crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”-‭‭JAMES‬ ‭1:12‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As long as we are submitting to his ways instead of ours, (let’s face it people, we don’t always have the best plans or make the best choices, we aren’t able to see the BIG picture like he is ((Thank-you Pastor Kim!)), he tells us everything will work out for the good! “And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.”-‭‭ROMANS‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Not only that, but he PROMISES those who love him and persevere through trials, the crown of life. How awesome is that!? It’s easy to say “I will be patient, loving, persevere, and joyful through trials” until we actually face them. But, I know personally that I have given the stupid devil too much time and control in my life.

I know who God is and I know who I am & I am equipped for the battle, (“Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. So stand firm and hold your ground, HAVING TIGHTENED THE WIDE BAND OF TRUTH (personal integrity, moral courage) AROUND YOUR WAIST and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (an upright heart), and having strapped on YOUR FEET THE GOSPEL OF PEACE IN PREPARATION [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”-‭‭EPHESIANS‬ ‭6:11-17‬ ‭AMP‬‬).

Do you truly understand the power that is inside you? & do you realize how big of a blessing you have in front of you? Persevere and be joyful through whatever the devil tries to throw at you because you know that nothing is more powerful than God.

The Beauty of A Wildflower, And The Captivating Beauty of Your Relationship With Christ.

“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. (‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭30-33‬ MSG)

I LOVE when Holy Spirit points something out to me and I’m like, yeah…you’re completely right, I need to work on that. As weird as it sounds, I love conviction and correction. I love that I know that I am growing and have something to work on to be Christ-like and bring his kingdom here on earth. I really love when God is like “Oh Tanja, why are you worried, I am in control.” Don’t you know how much I love you? Diving into his presence really puts life into perspective. Prayer isn’t a before and after meal, when you wake up, when you go to bed deal. It should be a continual conversation. Celebrating what Our Lord has done for us, shouldn’t be confined to church on Sundays, and shouldn’t only be kept to those who believe. Where do you need to step up your faith game? Is it simply trusting that he is in charge and will make everything work out for the good? Is it trusting this week that tithing 10% even though you’re worried about paying the bills? Is it reaching out to a brother or sister of Christ to seek advice with something you’ve been struggling with?

Remember how much God loves YOU. He has a unique, individual relationship with you that he can’t share with anyone else because you’re the only one to be the match.

Thank you Lord for loving me enough to show me new ways to grow closer to you and to be more like Christ every day. Thank you for giving us an individualistic love that never fails or ceases to amaze me. May I open up my heart to what you have to say and practice what you have laid on my heart. In Jesus name, Amen.
