Soaking In His Peace In A Quiet Place (Even though life is so noisy)

SOF_Psalm-119-114-web

Your quiet place.

No children, no dogs, no spouse, no distractions.

What does this look like to you?

Is it your closest? Bathroom? A nature trail? Did you have one once and now it has been taken over?

We all NEED a quiet place. EVEN JESUS DID!

Jesusquotequiet

Our quiet place is essential. It is where we can speak to God aloud and have him speak to us WITHOUT interruptions. Where you can hear him clearly and you can speak to him about the most inner parts of your heart and mind. Your quiet place should be somewhere where he has your full attention. A place where we can renew our mind in the word and spend time worshiping our creator, Abba, Alpha and Omega, our lifeline.

Many of us have a lot of commitments that keep us busy and we claim we don’t have time or we can’t find a quiet place.

If you are schedule is too busy, have you thought of waking up earlier or canceling the 2 hour Netflix binge? Or if your job is taking up the time you are spending with God, do you think it is time to pray for a new job opportunity? I know for a fact that when work was on the throne of my heart instead of God and I felt like I had nowhere to turn but took a leap of faith, God provided for me 2 new jobs that I fell in love with. He is faithful.  I can assure you that you are TOO busy if you are TOO busy to spend time with God. There are ways around it, just ask him.

When it comes to an actually quiet place, being married to a man who is in the military and having 2 dogs that are 6 months old can be really challenging. I am sure this is challenging for many of us who have families. The reading nook/war room I used to have where I would go to now has becomes the jungle gym for my puppies. But after not having the quality time with God that I wanted and so desperately needed I cried out upon God for help. WHERE is this place for me now? It became the bathroom for a while, then the trails, and now it has been not feeling guilty for putting my puppies in their cages for a while when I spend time with God.
What I really was depriving was not only myself, but my family. When I wasn’t able to spend the time with God that I needed (because I didn’t know where), I became moody and my thoughts began to become worldly.

If you are being challenged by busyness or don’t know where to go to spend time with God, simply ask him what can change. I know that I didn’t know what to do. I felt stuck. But that was just the enemy slipping in and trying to take away the time I need with God. Nothing is more important than your relationship with God. You can say it all day long, but until you put it into action is when the real fruit bearing begins.

2018 BuJo:Spiritual Health & Physical Health

Here is the latest pages of my 2018 BuJo. I absolutely love them.

Holy Spirit has really laid it on my heart that not only is it important to be healthy spiritually (reading, studying, mediating on the word, prayer, fasting) but also to be healthy physically. Our bodies are temporary vessel’s however they are a temple. I am not trying to lost weight, but be healthy. I may lose weight in the process but that isn’t my goal. Hence the tape over the weigh in of 2018! This means less sweets, more water, and a whole lot more exercise.

As I read the book about Spiritual Disciplines I have been reminded how important it is to meditate on The Word Of God. I sometimes read scripture at a pace that is just allowing me to read, not study and meditate.

What tools do you use to help your spiritual and physical health?

BuJo: My Fierce Reminder

For those who Journal or may want to start, I will be adding pages of my Journal and still continuing to write other posts pertaining to mental health & of course God! I really love the way this one turned out 🙂 It will be a page I turn to when I need to remember the fierce daughter God created me to be. Sometimes we all need a friendly reminder of who we are in Christ and scripture to beat up that dirty devil. Creating this journal helps with stress, anxiety, and is a way to praise God in a different way!

Going To War Without A Weapon

Would you go into a war without protection or your weapon? No…I wouldn’t either. Then how come it is so easy for us to go to battle without our Spiritual Armor & Weapon? It instructs us in Galatians 6:11 “Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.”
EPHESIANS 6:11 AMP

Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. So stand firm and hold your ground, having tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), and having strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news]. Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one . And take the helmet of salvation , and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.
EPHESIANS 6:13‭-‬17 AMP

Not only reading, but applying the word of God to your life is what protects you. I’m not saying that life will be perfect…But when we know the Truth of God’s Word we can recognize the lies of satan.

God’s word is full of promises. Things we need to pray for. Im happy to say God doesn’t break promises either! When we don’t read our word, we lack wisdom and understanding of what is going on in the spiritual realm, how we can put God above everything else, and really love our neighbors. The list goes on, your bible is your instruction manual to life!

I have heard many times that people do not have time to read scripture. I know it can be difficult. Why wouldn’t satan want to stop you from spending time with God? Am I calling your kids, husband, work, ect., satan? Of course not. But when you put God above all else, your life will improve, including those relationships.

When we read our word diligently and pray those promises, they come to life because God watches over his word. The possibilities are endless!“But Jesus looked at them and said, “With people [as far as it depends on them] it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
MATTHEW 19:26 AMP

I don’t know your life…I don’t know what your mornings look like…However, I know that I want to be equipped with my armor in the morning to fight the battles that might transpire for me. I am not a morning person. So, when I first began really diving into the word first thing in the morning it was difficult. I would get distracted, be so tired my eyes wouldn’t stay open, or not wake up in time. I got really frustrated, really fast! I recognized that it was satan wanting to stunt my relationship with Abba. NOT TODAY SATAN. I asked God, “God I’m really having a hard time spending time with you in the morning, will you please limit my distractions? It says in your word that I need my armor, please wake me up refreshed, focused, and ready to retain and put into practice what I read.” Next morning, I woke up early, without an alarm! (Very rare with the shift I used to work!)

God wants to spend time with you! He wants you to be a doer of the word and light of the world. If you’re struggling getting in the word, you’re not alone! I will be putting up more helpful tips and reasons why it is important to read scripture.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! & if we don’t talk before then, a very Merry CHRISTmas!

Spiritual Nourishment

like newborn babies [you should] long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may be nurtured and grow in respect to salvation [its ultimate fulfillment],
1 PETER 2:2 AMP

How often are you nourishing your body with the word of God?

Every Sunday? Every Sunday & Wednesday? Don’t have time? Without food we will die, it’s a fact. Without the proper nourishment from The Word of God, I tend to lose focus on what’s important. I look at the things of earth and I’m not focused on the realities of heaven. I tend to fall back into old ways that can cause me to eventually die when Jesus died for us to live. I used to say “Man, I wish there was an instruction manual to life.” I wonder if God just face palmed because he has provided one for all of us.

I understand we live in a busy world. However, if social media is the 1st thing you click on in the morning instead of linking up with The Lord, you might have your prioties out of order. (Don’t worry, you’re not alone, this is something I’ve been challenging myself on for a long time)

I love that anything I am dealing with there’s more than likely a scripture to battle the devil off. If I can’t seem to find it in that moment and still have a question, I know Holy Spirit will guide my decisions when I invite him in and pray for an answer.

The Word of God is so important. I challenge you to start putting 5 more minutes than you already do, aside to dive and really study and memorize the word of God and see how it starts transforming your life. Pray your way through it, of course. God always wants to talk to us.
