Paul’s Focus

“But whether I live or die is not important, for I don’t esteem my life as indispensable. It’s more important for me to fulfill my destiny and to finish the ministry my Lord Jesus has assigned to me, which is to faithfully preach the wonderful news of God’s grace.
Acts 20:24 TPT

Paul did not have his eyes on the here and now. He says a couple verses above this that Holy Spirit told him that imprisonment and trials and tribulation awaited him. Can you imagine being in Paul’s spot? Knowing a very hard road was ahead of you? Would you still press forward to what God has called you to do?

He kept faith. Trusting in the inheritance he has as a Child of God. Trusting that God is who he says he is & despite what was going on the earth, his eternal prize awaited him. What I admire about Paul is how focused he is. In this passage alone I see he us focused on two things.

1. Paul is focused on heavenly realities

2.He is focused on finishing his race in faith no matter what comes against him.

Paul had endurance & strength he got from God. He did not rely on himself to make it through. He kept his eyes focused on Jesus the perfector of our faith. He knew that trials awaited ahead. But, he didn’t stop there. He knew that God’s will was so much more important than anything this earth could challenge him with.

Reflect on where your focus is? Is your focus on Jesus the perfector of our faith and heavenly realities?

When trials come, stand in faith. Know that it is temporary and that the suffering you may be enduring now do not compare to the glory that is coming later.

If you need strength, call out unto God and he will give it to you. You were never meant to stay strong on your own.

The other question to reflect on is when you are going through times of trials and tribulations, what do you do?

As Children of God, we should be wearing our armor and fighting with the sword of the spirit. It does not matter what is thrown at us when the promises of God are yes and amen! The power of the Holy Spirit is inside you. The same power that raised Christ from the dead is in you. When you speak the promises of God outloud you declaring what he already said as true into fruition. Don’t back down! Stand up in faith!!!

Let’s Get Serious

One of the hardest things for us to do is really look at our hearts. The tendency of the human heart is to always see that what we are doing is right. What we are doing is always justified. The more I grow into a deeper intimacy with The Lord, the more I realize that I need to take this walk seriously.

I watched a Sermon given by Francis Chan that stirred up conviction, emotion, and a deep passion inside of me. A deeper passion then before…

He talked about the earth, how we are literally…right now…sitting in a ball of water, but the core is molten hot lava, moving at 1,000mph, revolving around the sun. & the sun being at the perfect distance, the earth being tilted at a perfect angle, just for us to live. Have you ever walked outside and been like “Wow, this is beautiful.”? When you walk outside, when you just look around, you can see his beauty all around you. God created beautiful views for us to view, for us to be in awe, for us to be memorized by. He also created us. He said, “I need one of you” & placed us here at the perfect timing to fulfill the purpose he has for our life.

Y’all God can do whatever he pleases, whenever he pleases…

If Jesus came back today, would you live differently?

Would you spend more time pursuing him?

Would you get up in the morning to read scripture even though you’re tired?

Would you stop watching that TV show because it’s profane and shows nudity?

Would you talk to him more?

Would you pray for someone when Holy Spirit told you to?

Would you give up your human flesh comfort just to be with him in eternity?

I feel, at times, I waste a lot of time on things that are useless to the Kingdom Of God…

I feel, at times, I live for myself instead of him.

I feel, as though, I could love deeper, forgive easier, and spread the truth of his word, more than I do.

We all have convictions that have stirred up in our heart. We are all working on things. We will never reach the depth of Abba’s love here on earth, so in turn our relationship with him should never stop growing either.

Since I’ve been walking this journey with God, I have been fed many lies. However, because I knew the truth of God’s word, I was able to speak that. I think what I enjoyed about Francis Chan’s sermon is how passionate he is in his relationship with God and how he repeated over and over, how he doesn’t want you to take him at face value. He wants you to read the truth of God’s word yourself.

I cannot stress how important it is to just be in his presence. How important is for the first thing for you to do in the morning is acknowledge who is breathing life into you this very moment. How important it is to talk to him, to read his word, and to praise him through every circumstance. Oh and don’t stop there, this is something you should do all day and all night long. How weird would it be if you had a friend, family member, child, spouse, someone whom you loved being with you all day, everyday, and not talking to them or hearing what they have to say? We get so caught up in the things of this world, that we do this!

God wants us, as brothers and sisters, to join together and hold one another accountable in our relationship with him. (James 5:16, Galatians 6:1-2, Matthew 18:15-17) This world tells you that we need to be independent and do it all on our own. Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

‭‭John‬ ‭15:5-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The best thing you can do for yourself is follow God. Pursue his heart. Stop caring what the world thinks and follow Him. It can be uncomfortable at times, it can be a struggle, but it is so much more rewarding. The love he has for us is so much greater than anything we can ever ask for. He is everywhere and in everything you do. The more you are aware of him in everything you’ve done or will do, life here on earth will change drastically for the good.

Be intentional in your walk! Spend time with him! He loves you so much! Take life seriously, you never know what tomorrow will bring. Let God take over ever part of your heart, evening it’s uncomfortable. He brings so much more than we could ever bring ourselves.

Growing Pains Part II

I am so thankful to have God with me every step of the way.
I am thankful for who he is.
I am thankful for the strength he provides me when I am weak.
I am thankful for the plan he has spoken over me and my life.

I love relying on God because he’s constant, he’s dependable, and he always brings the darkest of situations to light.

I have been battling lately. I mean, the enemy hit me so hard today that my body is to the point of physically hurting.
I shouted at the enemy so loud today that I was a child of God that I’m pretty sure he felt a piece of God’s wrath upon him.

Today, I had more than a couple rather poopy situations arise, but God was just like, “Do you trust me?”
And then he was like…
“Watch this turn out for the good!”

If there has been any good coming out of this, seems like forever, season, it is that I really have been tested to trust God and rely on Him. This season is growing me deep founded roots in nothing but The Loving Father. I have learned the importance of prayer and the beauty and power behind his word. I have learned more about who God truly is and my identity. I have learned more in this valley than I ever could’ve in highest point of the mountain top.
With that being said, even with all the body aches, tears, and mistakes I’ve made…
I am so thankful for this season. It has brought me growth and deep rooted understanding.

I know that he is with me wherever I go, with every step I take, speaking life and love into what seems like hopeless situations. I know that I have no reason to worry because he has a plan and has already spoken what is to come and what will be. I know in times like these where I need strength to fight that he will provide me with just that. I know that God is a loving Father and he is here to help me into victory not defeat.

Shift your focus!

You have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on his throne at the right-hand side of God. Keep your minds fixed on things there, not on things here on earth.
Colossians 3:1‭-‬2 GNB

I realize when I am not in this mindset, I am in trouble. The more I walk this journey, the more I realize that the earth is a stepping stone to something so much greater. I love my life, don’t get me wrong, however, I know that I can’t take anything with me to the grave. I hope to see people in Heaven, not have a bunch of materialistic things that don’t really matter anyways. I’d rather spend time serving at church and being with family, than worrying about what tomorrow will bring. I no longer have to worry because God provides so much peace. His love is so overwhelming it often brings me to tears. When I’m worn out & weary I am often trying to do things in my own strength, in my own time, and I am stuck in the here & now. He always gently shifts my focus back on his face & I am at peace.

I need to work on being content through every circumstance, the bad, the good, the in-between. I need to be still & know he is God! Let God be God!
I often have to ask myself, “Where are your eyes set?” “What truly matters?”

Is there something Holy Spirit has convicted you of lately? Feel free to share!
