Proverbs 16:3 -Daily Devotion

Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].
Proverbs 16:3 AMP

The Lord gently reminds me that his thoughts are so much higher than ours and so are his ways. There are many of us that know God has called us to do something grand, something to change eternity. It is just the process of getting from A to B that is difficult. But what if it doesn’t have to be? What if we put our COMPLETE trust in HIS WAYS rather than our own. Acknowledging that God makes the crooked paths straight, levels out the bumpy places, and is completely trustworthy and perfect.

If we keep the eternal perspective of knowing that all God does and asks us to do is wrapped in his perfection and asked out of his grace, mercy, and love, we no longer rely on what we can see or even what it feels like. We see that he is molding us as his clay and he is being the potter.

Today I lay down how I think things should go and take hold of the way God wants me to walk. Trusting who he is. I lean not on my own understanding and he will make my path’s straight. I will do as he directs wholeheartedly, for he is faithful and true. Not losing sight of who he is or the promises that will come to pass.

I Should Not Have Said That-Power of Our Words

Show of hands, how many of us have spoke something and immediately regretted what we spoke? Yes, me too. Thank you Lord for your mercy and grace! On the flip side of things, I have also felt Holy Spirit shut my big mouth. If you are wondering how, continue to read! There is one scripture I declare every single day, if not multiple times a day. It is…

“Lord, set up a guard for my mouth;
keep watch at the door of my lips” -Psalm 141:3 CSB

Do not get me wrong, I have made my fair share of mistakes. I think we all have. However, through this simple prayer, Lord put a door over my mouth so I may not speak thoughtlessly. I have felt the Holy Spirit come alive and shut my mouth so I didn’t say anything I would later regret. My pastor once said, “Do I want to eat the fruit of this later?”. As we speak, even as I write, we need to have an awareness that the words we speak are going to produce something. Are we going to choose to speak life or death?

This blog used to be called Speak Life until Holy Spirit led me to change the name to Let Love Be My Motive. When I first came to Jesus I realized how much of an impact words had on me growing up. The family, friends, coworkers, and others that surrounded me spoke things into me that shaped me as a child. Ultimately, many words that were spoken over me shaped many of the decisions that I would make further on in life.

Our words have power, and it is wise for us (with the help of the Holy Spirit) to keep watch over what we are speaking into people. When people do not have a relationship with Jesus, they do not have any sense of identity. If they do, it is usually made up of what others have said about them. There are still things people have spoken to me years ago that I have to refuse accept lie and replace with God’s truth about who I actually am.

It is essential that Holy Spirit lead the way with what we are speaking. We are to edify one another. Even if Holy Spirit is leading you to correct someone, this MUST be done in love. The words we speak have the power to build up or tear down. Let us be diligent to ask Holy Spirit for help and put a door over our mouthes so we may not speak thoughtlessly.

Let My Words Reflect You (Devotional)

The more I spend time in communion with God, the more I realize just how powerful the words we speak are and what we do on a daily basis is not meaningless even when it may seem trivial. God, let our lives be an offering of worship to you today and everyday.

•Prayer•

Holy Spirit I thank you for being such a great help, the perfect helper for me.
I pray that you help me work wholeheartedly unto God and not for man and let the words of my mouth edify and impart grace to those who hear. Forgive me for the times I have missed the mark. Let me no longer be a stumbling block to anyone, but let my life be an offering to bring the lost back to you and those who know you even closer.
In Jesus Name,
AMEN!

On The Rise (Devotional)

We are always walking in victory!👏 Even with mistakes and stumbling, God upholds us with his right hand🤲 When we are hard pressed, squeezed, stretched, all we have to do is call on the name of Jesus and he will meet our weakness with his strength💜 We are told in the bible we will go through trials and tribulations. We can look at the disciples and Jesus life and see that the world does not always like or accept the love of God. But, we are here on this earth to be God praisers, not people pleasers👌 If you are down, understand you are really rising up!⛰ There’s never a moment when you have not been victorious as God’s child🥇 This life can have many times where it may feel like it or even look like it! BUT God’s word stands true! We dont just stay down… We are always on the rise! 🌞 The Blood of Jesus triumphs over all and as his heir, we are triumphant too! 👑💪
