God Can.

If God can altar the chemical composition of an iron ax to make it float through the prophet Elisha…

“As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell into the water, and he cried out, “Oh, my master, it was borrowed!” Then the man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, the man of God cut a piece of wood, threw it there, and made the iron float. Then he said, “Pick it up.” So he reached out and took it.” 2 Kings 6:5-7 CSB

If God delivered me of abuse and trauma and into the wholeness of his love. If he healed me of mental illness leaving me not longer dependent on medication and entrapped in suicidal thoughts, depression, and anxiety.

If he spoke light into existence and still know the numbers of hairs on your head. Can I remind you that nothing you have going on right now is too big or too small for God to handle?

Chemical compounds of the ax were changed and made to float through a man by the power of God. The same Holy Spirit, that same power that lives in us can bring us into victory. Not based off of good behavior or performance. But based upon the faithfulness of God.

The ax was borrowed in 2 Kings 6 and the country was in great turmoil. Yet we see once again, the provision and faithfulness of God.

Whatever you are going through, God has the ability to bring you through it hand and hand. Do not resist going the places he would lead you to go or the choices he would lead you to make. Even if you run into trouble, he will bring you through.

What may be impossible to man is not impossible to God.

We serve a big God that makes our big problems seem pretty small in comparison to the wonders he has done and will continue to do.

God Has Written Today. (Devotional)

My day started much earlier than expected and I am not usually a morning person. Usually I get up around 8am but am not fully functioning till at least 10 or 11am. Just ask my husband. I didn’t anticipate to be up so early and have very important things to attend to, so I stayed up pretty late. God knew I would need some extra time today to do all he has called me to do. Like the quiet time I so desperately needed this morning to be able to write this post, the dishes in the sink, the homework I have procrastinating on, and the doctor’s appointment I have later.

You may be reading this thinking, man my morning did not go as planned. Or maybe you are reading this anticipating the events of the day, like a doctor appointment, a job interview, or a test for school. Wherever you are at this morning, I want you to rest in this profound truth.

“Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.” -Psalm 139:16 AMPC

Even before your mother knew you were in your womb, God had his attention on you. He has today planned that all plays into the eternal purposes he has for your life that cannot be stopped. He knew I would need to wake up at 4am to answer my phone because a friend needed help. He knew that we would have a miscarriage in March. God knows what you and I will face today. After all, today is a day HE has made (Psalm 118:24). I am not sure what today hold’s for you. But I know that God is not surprised at what today holds.

Be at rest. God has written your day today.
