As we head into a new week, Holy Spirit tucked this gentle reminder in my heart- I have grace for you today.
Whatever you feel like you are lacking or in need of, He is the fufillment. If you feel like you are falling short in strength, you can draw from His. When the world tries to scream weakness is wrong and shame you from admitting you need help, Jesus is extending His hand and heart reminding you His grace is sufficient in times of weakness. When you are weak, He is strong.
Let us go on remembering through each moment, there is grace for us today. God is not ashamed of our weaknesses, he wants to be our strength through them.
‘I have grace for you today’ -Abba
For if I want to boast, I wouldn’t be a fool, because I would be telling the truth. But I will spare you, so that no one can credit me with something beyond what he sees in me or hears from me, especially because of the extraordinary revelations. Therefore, so that I would not exalt myself, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to torment me so that I would not exalt myself. Concerning this, I pleaded with the Lord three times that it would leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me. So I take pleasure in weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and in difficulties, for the sake of Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:6-10 CSB
It is through revelation of Jesus’ love for us and grace that we are set free from falling back into the sin pattern that once entrapped us. The devil & this world points fingers at sin and breeds condemnation. While correction is necessary & biblical. We must correct in love by rooting out lies and planting the truth; Which results in exhortation that blossoms to being zealous for God & good works he planned long ago. Let us, as the church, be the one’s to teach the truth that sets people free. If we are going to point to anything, let us be the one’s who point to the cross, the truth that sets people free.
Now, there is no comparison between Adam’s transgression and the gracious gift that we experience. For the magnitude of the gift far outweighs the crime . It’s true that many died because of one man’s transgression, but how much greater will God’s grace and his gracious gift of acceptance overflow to many because of what one Man, Jesus, the Messiah, did for us! Romans 5:15 TPT
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. He gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people for his own possession, eager to do good works. Proclaim these things; encourage and rebuke with all authority. Let no one disregard you. Titus 2:11-15 CSB
No matter who you are, before you judge the wickedness of others, you had better remember this: you are also without excuse, for you too are guilty of the same kind of things! When you judge others, and then do the same things they do, you condemn yourself. We know that God’s judgment falls upon those who practice these things. God is always right, because he has all the facts. And no matter who you think you are, when you judge others who do these things and then do the same things yourself, what makes you think that you will escape God’s judgment? Do the riches of his extraordinary kindness make you take him for granted and despise him? Haven’t you experienced how kind and understanding he has been to you? Don’t mistake his tolerance for acceptance. Do you realize that all the wealth of his extravagant kindness is meant to melt your heart and lead you into repentance?
Romans 2:1-4 TPT
Make sure that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness springs up, causing trouble and defiling many. Hebrews 12:15 CSB
“Do not judge, so that you won’t be judged. For you will be judged by the same standard with which you judge others, and you will be measured by the same measure you use. Why do you look at the splinter in your brother’s eye but don’t notice the beam of wood in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the splinter out of your eye,’ and look, there’s a beam of wood in your own eye? Hypocrite! First take the beam of wood out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother’s eye. Matthew 7:1-5 CSB
Grace is Greater is another heart transforming book by Kyle Idleman. The best way to describe all the books I have read by him so far are convicting yet, comical and relatable. I was able to read Grace is Greater through Kindle Unlimited for free. As I read the book I was humbled to see areas that I needed to repent in but also encouraged through a deeper understanding of what Grace is. So often at church and even in Christian circles we throw around grace loosely. However, Grace is Greater is an excellent tool for all those in every walk of life. Kyle Idleman not only defines grace but talks about the need we all have for it and the way we must display it in every day life. I appreciate the continual vulnerability that Idleman has in all his books by sharing his life experiences. Because he shares the need he has for Grace, this invites you in to look at the times you have overlooked the need for grace in your own life.
One of my favorite quotes from the book gave me a real reality check and conviction from the Holy Spirit concerning me extending grace to to to others.
People need us to raise a hand, not point a finger.
Kyle Idleman (Grace Is Greater)
If you are looking to grow in the area of understanding what Grace is, the need for grace in your life, and how to extend grace to others…Grace is Greater is a wonderful book to digest. I could cruise through Kyle Idleman’s books because of the humor he uses with his footnotes will have you on the floor laughing. However, the meatiness of text is one that you will need to digest and take your time through.
Grace is Greater is a 5/5 stars. Through all the laughs and personal conviction I felt through ingesting this wonderful book, it deserves nothing less. I highly recommend Kyle Idleman’s other books if you have already read this book such as, Not A Fan and God’s At War.
Often satan will try to point out your “flaws” in hopes you will be so ashamed that you never mention them or see them as so bad that no good can come out of them. He is such a liar!! I was always called and accused of being over-emotional. But when God met me where I was at with his supernatural strength, everything changed. God spoke that my ‘crazy emotions’ when being used for his glory are called passion and compassion. In your weaknesses you are fused with God’s strength, so even the accused flaws are used for the good and glory of God!
Be unashamed of the darkness God has brought you out of. People need your testimony and to see the living power of Jesus Christ.
What is the devil pointing tonas a flaw that God says is actually a strength? Who can you share your testimony with today?
But he answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me. So I’m not defeated by my weakness, but delighted! For when I feel my weakness and endure mistreatment—when I’m surrounded with troubles on every side and face persecution because of my love for Christ—I am made yet stronger. For my weakness becomes a portal to God’s power.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 TPT
And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.
Revelation 12:11 NKJV
Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more, so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:20-21 NKJV
It is so important when we are viewing ourselves and others that we remember that grace and mercy are purely gifts given unto to us through the love of God💜
When you specifically study the life of Saul before he was Paul, his sin was great. However, we know that Saul’s heart was transformed and he is now known as Paul.
The love of God and grace and mercy of Jesus Christ has the power to transform our mistakes and past sins into a testimony for HIS glory👌
His love has no bounds🙌
We are to remember that where sin abounds, so does grace👏
We are all in need if his saving grace!
