Losing Friend’s Because Of Your Faith, The Hard Reality Of Christianity.

If you have been a true follower of Christ for any period of time, you have dealt with the loss of relationships. Not out of your lack of love, but for the lack of the world’s love for Him. One of the most painful things we go through as true followers of Christ is that hate seems to follow us when we speak the truth in love. You can tell the world of the things God has done, but they come back with louder voices of condemnation. It is painful, isn’t it? Being freed from all the bondage of the world and wanting to share it but being rejected time and time again. Thankfully, we are not alone in this, Jesus understands quite well.

“He testifies to what he has seen and heard, and yet no one accepts his testimony. The one who has accepted his testimony has affirmed that God is true.” -John 3:32-33 CSB

My friend, this is a soul to soul reminder that you are not less than and the devil is trying to shut you up. Why is he trying to shut you up when you share your testimony? Because a testimony is proof that God is willing to do something again. The enemy doesn’t want people free from what harms them. The terrible thing about the satan’s deception is that those who are fooled into falsehood cannot see they are deceived. It is true we can tell people by their fruit. Although I wish we could see past the rotten fruit. The truth is, both you and I would help save everyone if we could.

As I was struggling with my lost loved one’s, explaining my case to those who clearly did not want to believe the truth. My husband spoke up with boldness and conviction. He spoke, “Can you imagine if Jesus never left the place where people never understood him? He would have never left Jerusalem.” This spoke volumes to me. We must not be hung up on people that do not understand the gospel when there is world full of broken people desiring for the Good News. The people who are waiting on you to speak into their life and be that Christ like example are also the lost loved one’s your brother and sister’s in Christ have been praying for to be saved. We must not get hung up on the lost loved one’s who refuse to accept the truth and trust that God is going to send people in their path to love them right out of the darkness.

Love is not keeping quiet about the truth. After all, it is the truth that sets us free. Many people do not like my testimony of being freed from homosexuality and healed from mental illness. Because I no longer side with the kingdom of darkness, I am now known as a hater from a community that claims to speak love for all. In reality, their ‘love’ conditional upon conforming to their beliefs. As I have stepped up in boldness about being set free, there has been a clear separation of those who believe in God’s Word and those who do not.

“But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception.” -1 John 4:6 NLT

The beautiful thing about Christianity is that you don’t have to believe what I believe to be loved. We love you despite the cursing and hatred we are shown. Loving people despite what they do is the perfect example we were shown by our heavenly Father. I love the very people who curse me and ridicule me. Even though they claim I hate them, I share my testimony of freedom found in Jesus for the very reason of love. Love shares the truth that sets people free, not leads them into deeper patterns of bondage.

When we are attacked for our beliefs, it is essential we remember who God says we are. That the world hated Jesus first without cause. That the reason we are so deeply hated is not because we are doing something wrong, but because we are destroying the works of the devil. The only thing satan can do is to try to make you think that this fight is against people rather than him. It is unfortunate to have those you love the most tear you down. It hurts to lose friends and even family. Jesus knows how this feels too. There was a point where he asked “Who is my Mother? Who is my brother?” (Matthew 12:46-50). He understood that flesh does not make you family or friends. It is the Spirit behind the person that incorporates the pillar of family.

As you grow closer to God and transform to be more like him, there will be people who betray you and reject you. It is not because you did anything wrong. It is because they listen to the world rather than listening to the voice of the Father. I encourage you not to waver in your faith or the truth that sets people free just because people don’t agree. The truth of the situation is they are just deceived. Sharing the truth in love and people disagreeing is something Jesus went through too. The enemy will use people to accuse you and twist your words in attempt to make you quiet. Because when you are quiet, you are no longer speaking the truth that sets people free. My friend, you are WHO He says you are. Your testimony of God’s love at work in you life is valid and something no one can take away. The devil knows this.

You may lose friends and family because of God’s power at work in your life, but God will send more people in with pure intentions for your valuable heart and soul. God will send people who love you so much that they are unwavering in the truth even when it is hard. Solely because these divine friendships don’t want less for you than what God desires for you. God will send people that are family that you will rejoice with in heaven.

Refuse to be distracted from the deception of others. Refuse to be quiet about what God has done in your life. Refuse to partner with the poisonous words that have been spewed to shut you up. You my friend, are destroying the works of the devil every time you share the truth of God’s Word. There is a great harvest for those who suffer while doing good.

I will leave you with this snippet of a conversation I had with a dear friend of mine. It is not by conforming to the world that we change it. It is by transforming to be more like him. Even though we may be hated, we will change the world one step of obedience at a time!

Bringing Heaven To Earth -Binding And Loosing (Video)

Bringing Heaven To Earth (Binding & Loosing)

🗝“But you,” he asked them, “who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus responded, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will have been loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 16:15‭-‬19 CSB
🗝Even them I will bring to My holy mountain, And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices Will be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
Isaiah 56:7 NKJV
🗝He was afraid and said, “What an awesome place this is! This is none other than the house of God. This is the gate of heaven.” This stone that I have set up as a marker will be God’s house, and I will give to you a tenth of all that you give me.”
Genesis 28:17‭, ‬22 CSB

Purposeful Living In A Temporary Place

“We say we understand life is fleeting, but we act as though it was endless.” -Marty Cauley

Life has a way of passing by. It seems that it was just yesterday that you graduated high school, you got married, or your baby took their first steps. On more than one occasion, I have stepped back and thought back to childhood. It seemed like the days dragged on forever, especially at school. Yet now, as an adult, I cannot seem to keep up with time. Everything happens so quickly even though time is exactly the same as it was back then.

“Pay careful attention, then, to how you live—not as unwise people but as wise— making the most of the time, because the days are evil.” -Ephesians 5:15-16 CSB

I cannot answer the question of why time seems to go by so quick, other than it really does. Many times, we say we are living our life to the fullest and making most of our time, but are we? Are you and I doing all God has called us to do, here and now? The Lord put it this way to me, “If it was your time to come home today, did you do all you could wholeheartedly for the kingdom of God? Or are you holding onto things that are certainly going to pass away?”. I must ask myself this question daily. Is what I am doing right now going to make an eternal impact? Am I living my life for here and now, or what is to be eternal? This is not a question that is easy to answer but it is a very important one.

You and I can get caught up in the motions of work, school, kids, dinner, and repeat and look back and wonder, how did I get here? We must be intentional my friend with all we do. All the way down to our thought life we must be purposeful. After all, what we think goes to our heart. What is in our heart, we speak. What we speak directs the course of our life. We need to be living lined up with the Word of God.  Ephesians gives us a great example of this! We are to live as the wise and making the most of the time we have here on earth.

Unwise perspectives can have you thinking some very false ideas. These perspectives can be the feeling that we will have time tomorrow, even though tomorrow may never come. Or having the (dare I say it), YOLO (You only live once) mentality. This mentality leads you to believe that your actions do not really matter here on earth. While I fully believe that God does wants us to enjoy our life, we certainly should not be living our life only for what will pass away.

Take a moment, breathe, and reflect upon your life…

Are you doing all you can wholeheartedly for the Lord, focused on the things of heaven, being purposeful and intentional in all you think, say, and do?

I know this is a LOADED question and this can seem SO overwhelming, especially if you feel convicted to make some major changes. Do not feel ashamed! I have learned that God is so full of grace, mercy, and is redeemer of time and I am so thankful because I have needed to make some changes too! Ask him for forgiveness and ask him to help you turn in the right direction, he is your perfect helper. By simply asking Holy Spirit where he wants you to start makes a huge difference. What seems like small steps of obedience, adds up to habits that put us exactly where God desires us.

Let us start now!

God, what do you want us to do today?

More Scripture To Meditate On:

  • Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring—what your life will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes. -James 4:14 CSB
  • A human is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow. -Psalms 144:4
  • So if you have been raised with Christ, seek the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. -Colossians 3:1-3 CSB
  • Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people, 24 knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ. -Colossians 3:23-24 CSB
