Battle Ready

A couple weeks ago I was brought to a very important decision. Was I to cripple back in ubelief or take out my sword and fight? I was overwhelmed. My heart was drenched in the heaviness I used to feel with depression. I knew I AM HEALED. I have not dealt with this in like three years! Why was I dealing with this now?

Until these past couple days I had no idea WHY depression was trying to creep back in my life. But, with snot coming out of my nose from crying, burning eyes, and extreme fatigue, I began to call out to God. The spirit would speak for me as I laid down whatever was trying to bring me back to the place I have been freed from. It felt real. I knew it was real. BUT, I knew my God has the final say and there is nothing that does not have to BOW DOWN to the blood of Jesus.

I have not written in a while. I always say that God is preparing me in those seasons that seem so dry. But really, he took the pen.

As I called upon the Lord, the Holy Spirit brought to my rememberance what he has written already on my heart. By Jesus’ wound I am HEALED. No weapon formed against me shall prosper! I have authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and the devil himself cannot hurt me. God you are near to the brokenhearted. My mind is at perfect peace when I am transfixed on you. God you do not give me a spirit of fear or timidy but of power love and a sound mind. The devil MUST flee when I resist him. I have the sword of the spirit! I am on the winning side!!!!

You see, I rebuked the Spirit of Depression. I rebuked the Spirit of Anxiety. I rebuked the Spirit of PTSD and I rebuked the Spirit of Bipolar Disorder. I know that I am healed. But, Holy Spirit said “Now is the time to FIGHT”. So with the help of him I pulled out my sword and it was war!!! I began declaring God’s Word over and over and over and the devil finally fled as I resisted his lies.

Little did I know what was coming the week after…

Blessing on blessing on blessing.

IT IS HARVEST TIME.

When we are facing trials and tribulations, the devil’s pattern seems to be the same. To try to deceive us and bring us back to where we used to be. But our SWORD and the AUTHROITY God has given us through the HOLY SPIRIT is so much greater than anything we will have to face. Another pattern that has been brought to my attention is that when there is about to be a BREAKTHROUGH, he attacks. Sometimes he even attacks after. Which is why it is of GREAT importance to always have your sword ready!!

When we face times where we are being attacked over and over, what we fed ourselves is bound to come out. I cannot put enough emphasis on fellowship with God through prayer and his word and fellowship and communion with the saints. We are to be battle ready at all times. This is a war we are in!

When you are hard pressed on every side, what comes out? Will you choose fear or faith?

God is so graceful and such an amazing helper that there is no shame if we need help with this. He said those who humble themselves shall be exalted and that he meets us in our weakness with his strength. If you need help in this arena (which I think we all can grow deeper in these areas) call upon his name. He is ready for you!

We do not shrink back, but press into his presence. We take out our sword and every deception that darkness tries to bring MUST bow!

God’s Exchange For Your Praise

God never gives an even exchange…
You pour out your love on him, he pours it right back.
You come in praising him with anxiety, he leaves you with his peace.
You come in with depression, you leave with joy.
You come in with burdens, he brings you freedom.

We go in to pour out our love upon him and we end up blessed. Our Father is a giver even when we are giving thanks unto him!

I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You. I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul.

Psalms 138:1‭-‬3 NKJV

True You (Finding Beauty In Authenticity)~Susan J. Sohn

True You: Finding Beauty in Authenticity
Susan J. Sohn, Broadstreet Publishing – December 18, 2018
ISBN-13: 9781424554515

True You written by Susan J.Sohn, is a journey through different women’s life experiences that will leave you with peace and hope for the future. Through powerful, gut-wrenching, emotional testimonies women have shared, you will end this book knowing you are not alone. Because of they were raw about their life experiences, feelings, and emotions this book was able to be written. Their vulnerability has brought an opportunity for healing throughout every single page. There are various topics and situations covered from their heart to yours.

I personally related to many women throughout the chapters of this book. It is a book to meditate on, apply, and can bring healing if your heart is open. I really appreciated how at the end of each chapter Susan lists suggestions and questions to help you apply what you have read. There were a few scriptural references here and there. But, Susan’s heart and love for empowering and encouraging women shines throughout the entire book. At certain points during the book, I felt the book was hard to read due to the fact that I had not been through what they had been through. However, I know heart and soul was put into this book. I wish I would have read this when I was battling mental illness and dealing with abuse. It would have brought me so much more peace back then to know I was not alone!

Overall, I give this book a 4 out of 5. I believe that many people who pick up this book and use what Susan has given them will experience freedom and love like never before. I recommend True You to anyone who may be struggling with self-worth, depression, anxiety or may be feeling like they are alone. I also recommend this book to women who desire to be all God has called them to be. Each testimony is packed with true experiences from women like you and me.

A big thank you to the author Susan for putting her heart and soul into each and every page and changing the lives of each women behind each story. I also want to thank Broadstreet Publishing for giving me the opportunity to review this book!

You Are Not Alone

I’ve come to this place where I seem to be putting in an endless amount of effort in everything I do. The more I try, the more I become weary. I have come to a place of tiredness and a place where I feel far from God.

I am saying this to be transparent. Not for discouragement. I say this to help one of you that may be going through the same thing. This season of my life has been one of correction, repentance, and a need for endurance. It has been one where if I focused on feelings, I would be lost.

A relationship with God is not based upon feelings. But is based upon Faith and the solid foundation of truth, God’s Word.

So, even though I feel weary, he is renewing my strength.

Even though I may feel sad, he is near to the broken hearted.

It may seem like I am surrounded with defeat, but I am more than a conqueror.

It feels like these promises will never comes to pass, but I am in the waiting and his word cannot come back void.

I may feel far from God however he said he will never leave me not forsakeme. He will always be there to deliever me!

Even though the doctors say there is no change, by his wounds I am healed.

Things do not make sense right now, but I lean not on my own understanding, he will make my path straight.

There will be times where your emotions want to take over. But, focus on the perfector of our Faith and the one who will never let us down, Jesus. Surround yourself in his presence and praise him through the storm. You are not alone and you are so loved! Feelings may lie, but his word stands true, now and forever and ever.

Shaking The Foundation of Hell

Paul and Silas, undaunted, prayed in the middle of the night and sang songs of praise to God, while all the other prisoners listened to their worship. Suddenly, a great earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. All at once every prison door flung open and the chains of all the prisoners came loose.
Acts 16:25‭-‬26 TPT

There are three things I briefly want to touch on in these 2 verses.

One being, there were people surrounding Paul & Silas who were listening to their prayers and praises to God.

The second thing is that even in the midst of being “chained down” and imprisoned, they still praised God for how good he is.

The third being, because of the power of their praise and prayer, it set other people who were bound down free. Their praise shook the very foundation where they were held captive and bound down.

In conclusion, the very words we speak to the father and the praises that come put of our mouth are powerful and yes, people are listening. They may not say they are, but people’s true desire in their heart is the love of Jesus. No matter the circumstance, even if we feel bound, we should be inclined to have communion with Abba and praise him. He never changes and his love endures. Therefore, our praise should be endless too. Our praise can be the very thing that not only sets us free but shakes the foundations of hell (prison one is entrapped in) and sets other people free around us too.

At first glance, you see that Paul and Silas prayer & praise set them free. Yet, in reality, it shook the foundation that kept them and others captive. Their prayer and praise broke the chains that bound them down and set them free into what God had called them to do.

My encouragment to you this morning is, in every circumstance pray and praise. God hears every word you speak and your praise to the father loosens things that have tried to keep you bound! Not only that, but people are watching. Do not be a people pleaser, but a God pleaser. My prayer is that our prayer and praise is so contagious is free’s others just as Paul and Silas.

The words you speak, the prayers you give unto the father, and the praise you bring are all contagious and have the power to shake the foundations of hell. God has given you to the power to praise and pray in every circumstance. Even when you are not sure what to say, the spirit will speak for you. When you feel weary, he will give you strength. When you feel bound, he sets you free. When you feel like you are just surviving, he brings you to a place of living abundantly!

There is nothing he won’t do for us.

In every circumstance pray and praise. You never know what new freedom is awaiting you or the freedom it may bring to who you are surrounded by. There is nothing God won’t do. Hell cannot stand a chance. The victory is already won. For the power, the glory, are yours Lord forever and ever. Amen!

Scripture for Meditation & Application

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psalms 34:1 NKJV

Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
Psalms 47:1 NKJV

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Romans 8:26 NKJV

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28 NKJV

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:31‭-‬39 NKJV

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6‭-‬7 NKJV
