Walking With God Is Intentional

What do you go to for comfort when you’ve had a bad day? Food, your warm fuzzy blanket, a beer, a shopping spree at hobby lobby, your friends, the gym, even your spouse?

When something happens, who is the first person you want to talk to? Do you talk to Abba or do you call your spouse or best friend?

When you wake up in the morning, what is the very first thing you do? Do you talk to Abba and ask what is on his agenda? Do you spend time with him and put on your armor for the day?

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord].”

‭‭MATTHEW‬ ‭6:24‬ ‭AM

What is taking away from your time with God? Are you putting anything before him?

Ask Holy Spirit to reveal it to you.

I often hear how “busy” we are and how we “don’t have time” for God. Walking with Christ is intentional and choosing him and his way should be apart of our life every single day. I don’t care if you ask him what kind of bread you should get, he is just happy to spend time with you.

When I first started walking with God… he wasn’t first in my life. My whole life and everything in it was completely out of wack. I chose many things, and people, that I thought would complete me. Things I thought would help fill the void that I constantly felt. But really, when we focus on him and die to ourself, is really when we start living.

“Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If you are trying to follow someone you don’t know, I can understand that it can be scary…

But, the only way to get to know him, just like anyone else, is by spending time with him. Once you focus on Abba, things begin to fall into place. Things you didn’t have strength to do, he gives you the strength for. He shows you what pure love is and how to love those who need it the most. He shows you the perfect plan for your life. God gives you purpose. If we could just stop, and really focus on what’s important, God, life here on earth would be so much better.

If I can just encourage you to dig a little deeper, or if you don’t know God at all to talk to him like he’s your best friend, I assure you that you won’t be disappointed.

“In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29:12-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Coffee With God (Part 1)

I love that I have guidance for every choice I make and even if I mess up, God creates it into something beautiful. I love that God loves us so much that he looks at every detail of our life and accounts for every tear. The more time I spend with him, the more I love him. The more I come to understand him, the more I realize how many deep rooted lies the enemy has led me to believe. I am thankful for God who pays attention to the little things and shows me love through every situation❤️ #Thankful #ItsTheLittleThings #MyBestFriend #PapaGod #Beloved #Victory #Hope #Faith #HitsMeInTheFeels #ChristianBlog #DailyDevotion #CoffeeWithJesus #ThatRedheadGirl11

Relating back to my last post, today, I am going to choose to focus on what’s good. I pray that we pay closer attention to the detail of Gods love for us. Today is going to be a great day!

Ooooo, this one kind of hurts!

I’ve been stuck in Philippians for some time now & let me tell you how this verse jumped off the page at me. Thank-you Holy Spirit, this one stung a little.

Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may be innocent and pure as God’s perfect children, who live in a world of corrupt and sinful people. You must shine among them like stars lighting up the sky, as you offer them the message of life. If you do so, I shall have reason to be proud of you on the Day of Christ, because it will show that all my effort and work have not been wasted.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:14-16‬ ‭GNB‬‬

I am reflecting at how often I complain and oh man, this is definitely something I need to work on.

The first word that stands out to me is “everything”. So you mean I’m called to not complain about anything!?!? Even with dusting!?!?

Then it says that we are called to “shine like stars as we share the message of life”. I complain a lot at times and I am realizing that it doesn’t reflect the thankfulness I have for the life Our Creator has provided me with. Even if God didn’t do anything else in my life, I should be doing the things he has called me to do with an attitude of thanksgiving.

I’m not sure about you, but I definitely don’t want to “waste” anyone’s hard work.

How much am I complaining? Too much. Probably like a 12 on a 1-10 scale. Is this something you need to challenge yourself on too? Start today!

Dear Papa, I am truly sorry that my words don’t always reflect the daughter you have called me to be. I pray that when I feel the need to complain or argue that my mouth and mind would reflect the attitude of Christ and speak nothing but thanksgiving and praise. Thank-you for always pointing me in the direction I need to follow on my daily walk with you. In Jesus name, Amen.

Diving A Little Deeper Into The Word

So I started looking deeper into scripture because I really want to strengthen my relationship with God. I have been convicted that I need a more consistent prayer life & to be more persistent in my walk. When I started to break scripture down using the MySword bible app, I was amazed at how much more there is to learn. I had to chuckle after I read this verse and saw how “evil one” was broke down. The accuracy!

Verse studying: We know [with confidence] that anyone born of God does not habitually sin; but He (Jesus) who was born of God [carefully] keeps and protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.-1 JOHN 5:18 AMP
Original: *πονηρός*
Transliteration: *ponēros*
Phonetic: *pon-ay-ros’*
*Thayer Definition*:
-full of labours, annoyances, hardships         -pressed and harassed by labours.                 -bringing toils, annoyances, perils; of a time full of peril to Christian faith and steadfastness; causing pain and trouble.       – bad, of a bad nature or condition.               -in a physical sense: diseased or blind.         -in an ethical sense: evil wicked, bad

I am thankful have such a loving father to protect me from all of the above. I challenge you to not just read scripture, but to really study it, and after you’re done studying The Word, meditate on it, and after that apply it to your everyday life. I am thankful to have brothers and sisters of Christ to hold me accountable. The truth may hurt sometimes, but it’s exactly what we need to hear to strengthen our relationship with God.
