The Holy Spirit clearly spoke to me to share this word for today. May it activate you into the great things he has for you!

•God is searching for those who want to step away from the way things have always been done (tradition) & step into the new by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
•Traditions are barriers to stop you from truly fulfilling all God has called you to do
•Just because it hasn’t been done before or is bigger than you does not mean it is not from the Lord, rely not on your own understanding & be obedient to HIS ways.
•The only confinements we have on ourselves are the one’s we allow to be there. God did not put them there.

It’s time to to leave the old ways behind ➡️ and step into the new!

No more limits of what God can use us for, we say YES!

It’s the beginning of the year and everyone has new goals for the new year. Some of our goals include go to the gym, eat better, read more books, spend more time with family, pray more, start a business, and chase after our dreams. Goals are essential and I believe that having goals honors God. When I read over 1 Chronicles 29:10-14 the Holy Spirit gave me some insight.

“Then David blessed the Lord in the sight of all the assembly. David said, May you be blessed, Lord God of our father Israel, from eternity to eternity. Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the majesty, for everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to you. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom, and you are exalted as head over all. Riches and honor come from you, and you are the ruler of everything. Power and might are in your hand, and it is in your hand to make great and to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, we give you thanks and praise your glorious name. But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? For everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your own hand.” 1 Chronicles 29:10-14 CSB

The first thing that the Holy Spirit pointed out was who this was written by. It was written by David, a man after God’s own heart. David said something so profound that I believe we all can learn from. He said, “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? For everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your own hand”.

We as followers of Jesus need to have an awareness, that ALL that we have and all we do relates to stewardship. From the time we have here on earth, to the car we drive, our bodies, the friends and family that surrounds us, money, and this beautiful planet we live on ALL belongs to God. He has, however, chosen us to be apart of his creation.

David had an awareness of who he was in comparison to God. Who was he compared to the one who said let there be light and there was light? Who was he in comparison to the one who breathes into dust and created man? We see David’s humility and fear of the Lord through this passage of scripture. He has a deep sense of honor, love, and admiration towards God.

So how does this relate to us and how does this relate to 2020?

When we have the perspective of time being something we can never get back, grasping onto the briefness of our time on earth, I believe it provides us with a sense of urgency and responsibility to be good stewards of time. Each of us has a purpose God spoke into existence before we were being knitted in our mothers womb. When we take into account that time is something we cannot get back, we can see that time is, in fact, something to be stewarded. We are also stewards of the assignment we have been given by the Lord. Are the goals we have set good stewardship of the time and resources God has given us? I believe that Holy Spirit is our perfect help to let us know.

There may be some of you that the God has called you to do less instead of more, understanding that REST is holy too. While others of you, the Lord is asking you to step out into a new found place of boldness and out of comfortability. I am not sure where you are but I know, “Before you do anything, put your trust totally in God and not in yourself. Then every plan you make will succeed.” -Proverbs 16:3 TPT.

David had the perspective that this life was not his. Do we? When we reflect on our goals are they ~~self focused~~ or reliant upon the one who knows and see’s all from beginning to the end?

Take this time to pray and ask God how you can be a good steward with that he has provided you with. You might just be surprised how he answers!
