Bread Instead of Rocks

“Do you know of any parent who would give his hungry child, who asked for food, a plate of rocks instead? Or when asked for a piece of fish, what parent would offer his child a snake instead? If you, imperfect as you are, know how to lovingly take care of your children and give them what’s best, how much more ready is your heavenly Father to give wonderful gifts to those who ask him?”
Matthew 7:9‭-‬11 TPT

This passage got me this morning. Why do I doubt what God is willing to give me? He is not reluctant. He takes great pleasure in giving me my heart’s desire.
Are you caught in the mindset that God wants to give you a rock when you asked for food? Are you believing a lie that God will let you adopt and not give you your own child?
I am not saying adoption is bad. I think it is important that we adopt. But did God promise you both?

Holy Spirit made me realize that I was believing a lie that God wanted to give me a rock rather than bread and that it is rooted from a broken relationship with my earthly family.
I’m not sure where you are at this morning.
But do not settle less than what God and his heavenly kingdom has for you.

Do not settle for less than:
+Heavenly Peace
+Healing
+Wholeness
+Freedom
+Abundance
+(insert God’s promises to you here)

God’s word cannot come back void and he is not a man that he can lie. Continue to seek the kingdom above all else, keeping your focus in the things above, and declaring his promises. Be anxious for nothing and pray about EVERYTHING.

Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding, will make the answers known to you through Jesus Christ.
Philippians 4:6‭-‬7 TPT
