Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. (Romans 12:9-10)
When you ask someone how their day went, do you actually care about their answer? When someone is having a bad day, are you willing to take time out of your day to go see them and give them a hug? When someone needs you to cover a shift at work, even though you really don’t feel like going in, do you do it?
Being sincere when you ask someone how they’re doing can go a long way. If you can tell something is wrong, listen with the intent of listening, not responding. I love that the bible calls us to “Really love one another”. It’s okay to hate what is wrong with the world as long as it doesn’t cause you to sin. The bible is filled with love and selflessness because that’s who Jesus and who God are.
Take time to reflect today…is what you say sincere?
