“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. (Matthew 6:30-33 MSG)
I LOVE when Holy Spirit points something out to me and I’m like, yeah…you’re completely right, I need to work on that. As weird as it sounds, I love conviction and correction. I love that I know that I am growing and have something to work on to be Christ-like and bring his kingdom here on earth. I really love when God is like “Oh Tanja, why are you
worried, I am in control.” Don’t you know how much I love you? Diving into his presence really puts life into perspective. Prayer isn’t a before and after meal, when you wake up, when you go to bed deal. It should be a continual conversation. Celebrating what Our Lord has done for us, shouldn’t be confined to church on Sundays, and shouldn’t only be kept to those who believe. Where do you need to step up your faith game? Is it simply trusting that he is in charge and will make everything work out for the good? Is it trusting this week that tithing 10% even though you’re worried about paying the bills? Is it reaching out to a brother or sister of Christ to seek advice with something you’ve been struggling with?
Remember how much God loves YOU. He has a unique, individual relationship with you that he can’t share with anyone else because you’re the only one to be the match.
Thank you Lord for loving me enough to show me new ways to grow closer to you and to be more like Christ every day. Thank you for giving us an individualistic love that never fails or ceases to amaze me. May I open up my heart to what you have to say and practice what you have laid on my heart. In Jesus name, Amen.
